Here Is a few things that are worth while in Newcastle in December months.
There is so much to do and see in Newcastle all year round but these places in the winter are something special.
One is the Hadrian's Tipi in Newcastle city centre which hasn't long been there. This is family friendly, live entertainment, food and drink and you can even take your dog inside.
The reason this has been created for winter especially is because in “In 122AD one of the five ‘good’ Roman Emperors, Hadrian, built a wall in the North East. Hadrian was a canny bloke who liked to travel sampling the best that countries could offer. When on the road he and his pals lived in Tipi-like tents and within these Tipi walls he enjoyed a bustling environment complete with great people, exotic teas and coffees, world foods, the finest local ales, beers and much more.”
Jesmond Dene is a short walk from the city centre and is a calm oasis of woodland walks. Take some time out by the waterfall where you can enjoy the peace and quiet without spending a penny or enjoy Pets Corner.
Some of the views and history are quite interesting. Find out more on www.jesmonddene.org.uk/history. So much to talk about so probably best to have a read into it yourself.
Explore the maze of tunnels, winding stone staircases and secret rooms at Newcastle Castle. History buffs will enjoy learning more about Newcastle’s past and those who appreciate the finer things in life will love the stunning architecture.
If you can embrace the cold for a few moments a quick trip to the roof of the castle will reward you with stunning aerial views across the Tyne.
This has been part of life in Newcastle since 1937 and is the only surviving Newsreel cinema in the UK. The Grade II listed building with art deco design is the cosiest place to catch a movie this Winter.
Playing a mixture of cult classics, popular favourites and current blockbusters the smallest screen fits a snug 33 people. The Tyneside also has its own bar where you can join regular quizzes and free movie screenings over some delicious food.
Newcastle’s only boutique bowling alley, Lane 7 offers hours of entertainment. A large karaoke room, ping pong tables and pool sit aside from the bowling alley and if you want to stay even longer they serve delicious food and have a well-stocked bar.
